- Taiwanese smart energy solution provider presented their innovative solutions and technologies to local Malaysian enterprise at the Smart Energy Taiwan Solutions Speed Dating & Networking Event host by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC)
September 19- 20, 2023: The issue of achieving net zero carbon emissions has gained increasing global attention. In light of this, Taiwan’s International Trade Commission organized the “Wow! Taiwan Project Malaysia Smart Energy Media Cooperation Fair” in Kuala Lumpur from September 19 to 20. Ten selected Taiwanese companies, including GAMA Green-Energy Technology, Taiwan Vehicle Charging Co., Ekopro Ltd., Osmart Solutions Ltd., Chiun Mai Communication Systems Co., Ltd., and Optimization Solutions Asia Engineering Co., Ltd. attended the event. They presented innovative solutions and technologies to 35 local Malaysian enterprises, including Gentari and Sunway, one of the largest companies in Malaysia.
As the drive for net zero emissions intensifies, companies across Asia are adopting new technologies and solutions for equipment, systems, and industries to reduce carbon footprints. These smart energy solutions help meets net zero targets in new overseas markets like Malaysia, where there is strong demand for sustainable solutions from abroad.
Notable results include Hedian Digital Integration Technology Ltd., which cooperated with a major Malaysian telecom company to negotiate smart building and energy management solutions. This collaboration is expected to generate around NT$10 million in revenue. Hedian’s CEO, Lin Shulei, said Malaysia’s smart energy demand is surging. The business matching events organized by the Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) allowed Hedian to accelerate solutions for local needs.
Additionally, Ekopro Ltd. is partnering with local providers on energy-saving solutions for factories and hospitals in Malaysia. This is forecasted to generate NT$10 million in revenue. Ekopro’s General Manager, Gloria Chang, remarked that the next few years will be an optimal time to launch net zero emissions solutions in international markets. Ekopro aims to combine resources with more Taiwanese companies to capitalize on this opportunity.

The Smart Energy Matching Fair facilitated nearly 50 one-on-one business matching meetings. Participating companies also visited the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation (MRANTI), and Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) to deepen ties and understand local market demand.
Highlights of the MRANTI visit included:
- Seeing the future of Malaysian innovation through robotic demos by HelloWorld Robotics and exploring the cutting-edge MakersLab.
- Facilitating connections between the participating Taiwanese companies and Malaysian tech innovators to foster collaboration.
- Getting inspired by the groundbreaking work happening at MRANTI.

Highlights of the MGTC visit included:
- MGTC presented Malaysia’s admirable leadership and progress in renewable energy, electric mobility, and sustainability programs like MyHijau and iGEM 2023.
