Taiwanese Tech Providers Connect at the Wow!Taiwan Project in Bangkok

November 21, 2024: The Wow! Taiwan Project embarked on an exciting three-day initiative in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together leading Taiwanese technology providers and Thai stakeholders in the smart energy sector. The event aimed to foster collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development by introducing cutting-edge Taiwanese solutions to Thailand’s evolving energy landscape.

Here’s a recap of the key highlights from each day.

Day 1: Welcome Dinner

The event kicked off with a warm welcome dinner where participants explored the nuances of Thailand’s business culture and energy landscape. Attendees were also briefed about the agenda for the next two days, setting the stage for a meaningful exchange of ideas and partnerships.

Day 2: Wow! Taiwan Project X Thailand Smart Energy Forum Event

The second day was dedicated to the Wow! Taiwan Project X Thailand Smart Energy Forum, an impactful gathering showcasing Taiwanese innovations in smart energy management, renewable energy systems, and sustainable transport. The event drew a diverse audience, including government officials, industry leaders, distributors, and potential buyers from various sectors.

This forum is part of the Wow! Taiwan Project, organized by TITA (International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs) and implemented by CDRI (Commerce Development Research Institute). It was co-organised with the Netherlands Thai Chamber of Commerce.

The forum featured presentations from leading Taiwanese and Thai experts, providing insights into the latest technologies and opportunities for collaboration in Thailand’s energy market.

Key Speakers:

  • First Speaker: Mr. Hatsadin, the Acting Director of Asset Management, Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) presented Thailand’s digital transformation efforts in the energy sector. He covered the Digital Economy Promotion Master Plan (2023–2027), Thailand’s smart city ecosystem, and the Thailand Digital Cataog.

  • Second Speaker: Mr. Tjakko Dijk, the Founder & Director of Urbansphere Solutions shared some innovative approaches to sustainable urban development. He discussed some smart energy application case studies and regional strategies to achieve the Paris Agreement’s GHG reduction goals.

  • Third Speaker: Mr. Prin Mana-aporn, Head of Strategy and Innovation of Greenergy Thailand highlighted the innovations and market opportunities in Thailand such as the demand for EV charging infrastructure, Smart Grid 2.0, and the exploration of hydrogen as an alternative fuel in Thailand.

Taiwanese companies also showcased their advanced products and services, connecting with Thai participants during dedicated introduction sessions and business matching opportunities.

Our Taiwanese partners were the stars of the show, presenting industry-leading products such as:

  • 3Egreen Technology – Advanced energy footprint data management with their iEECMS for real-time analysis, empowering businesses to meet ESG and net-zero goals.
  • Seasonic Energy – Lightweight, non-intrusive energy management systems designed to enhance electrical safety and promote sustainability.
  • Taiwan Vehicle Charging Co. – Seamless EV charging management with their U-Charge Smart Cloud System, integrating FinTech and AIoT.
  • CoCoTree Technology -Innovative forest management solutions using UAVs, satellite imagery, and deep learning for precise carbon sink analysis.
  • SMANEX -Smart energy solutions with edge computing and IoT platforms for real-time energy optimization.
  • eTreego -Flexible and efficient EV charging management systems supporting modular functionalities and real-time monitoring.
  • YC Synergy – Fuel cell power generation systems for commercial vehicles, maritime, and stationary applications with in-house design capabilities.

The day concluded with several successful partnerships, underscoring the event’s role as a bridge for Taiwanese and Thai businesses to collaborate on sustainable energy solutions.

Day 3: Site Visits to Siam Cement Group (SCG) and AMATA Group

On the final day, participants visited two of Thailand’s leading organisations to explore real-world applications of green initiatives and smart city solutions.

SCG Packaging

SCGP is the leader in the fully-integrated packaging chain in Southeast Asia. The company provides products that include fiber-based packaging, performance and polymer packaging (PPP), and food service products as well as designing and printing services and other diverse solutions to meet customers’ demands. The SCGP team introduced their innovative efforts in sustainable materials and energy efficiency, offering insights into their current projects and potential collaboration opportunities.

AMATA
Amata is a leading developer and operator of industrial cities. Since 1989, they have helped global companies build an industrial base in Southeast Asia and grow their businesses.

AMATA showcased their smart city initiatives, focusing on integrating green technologies into urban development. Delegates engaged in discussions about sustainable urban planning and the role of technology in driving efficiency.
