June 16, 2025: During our recent trip to Bangkok, we had the opportunity to visit the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), a leading research institute under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). NSTDA operates under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) and plays a pivotal role in advancing science and technology in Thailand.
Established in 2003, NANOTEC focuses on building and promoting the benefits of nanotechnology, transferring research into industry, and raising awareness on nano-safety among the public. Its core areas of research include:

We were truly amazed by the strong international collaboration network that NSTDA has cultivated over the years. Their ability to connect global research with local innovation is a testament to Thailand’s strategic vision in science and technology.
The visit offered valuable insights into how Thailand is leveraging deep-tech to drive economic and societal development. We also had the pleasure of meeting with Nano Coating Tech, a startup spun off from NANOTEC. The company specialises in advanced nano-coating solutions for industrial and consumer applications. Their participation in the meeting added a practical dimension to our discussions, showcasing how research can translate into real-world impact through commercialisation.
We look forward to exploring potential collaboration opportunities with both NANOTEC (NSTDA) and Nano Coating Tech as we continue to bridge research, innovation, and industry across Southeast Asia.
