ITRI visiting Singapore

• ITRI representative from Taiwan visited Singapore last week and looked forward to learning more about Singapore’s IoT (Internet of Things) startup ecosystems.
• Blackstorm Consulting assisted in arranging and coordinating various meetings and site visits for the representative to attend.

September 10, 2019: BlackStorm Consulting was privileged to host and welcome ITRI representative, Dr. Kuo-Chung Huang at one-north area. NTUitive @ Block79 was his first visit and he was introduced to LUX Photonics Consortium where the parties had a fruitful 2-hour closed discussion.

After having lunch, we brought Dr. Huang to NUS Enterprise @ Block71. Introductions were done and he had a better understanding on how the startup ecosystems work in Singapore with various programmes in place to facilitate and assist the startups. Red Dot Drone was also being introduced to him as the company is interested to enter into the Taiwanese markets and would like to apply into the accelerator programmes there.

The last visit of the day will be to Pollinate. It is a joint initiative by Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic. It is an incubator to support the students and alumni on the entrepreneur efforts. The vicinity acts as a co-working space where amenities were well-provided, and events can be hosted for the entrepreneurs to attend and learn the insights from those who graduated from Pollinate.

All in all, the site visits were very interesting and impressive to Dr. Huang. He enjoyed the hospitality and acquired various knowledges along the way. Everyone was indulged in the conversations and left the meetings with many meaningful takeaways. BlackStorm Consulting was glad to tag with ITRI after the last visit by NCTU on August. More and more groups will be expected to come to Singapore as this area remains vibrant and conducive for the startup ecosystems.
